Harry Potter/Hogwarts unit study continued

Here are some of the things we've done at "Hogwarts Homeschool", our Harry Potter unit study, since my first post:

We made Goblin Gloop!

Translated for Muggles, the proportion is 1 tsp of fibre powder (such as Metamucil - we used a flavoured one for colour and scent) to 1 cup of water.

Microwave for 3-4 minutes. It gets thicker as you microwave it. Let cool before poking it! Trust me on this one. Then play - it is delightfully slimy but not very sticky.

M wrote an acceptance letter to Hogwarts using Microsoft Word:

She also drew some magical creatures, researched plants, and explained how she came to have a particular creature in her wand (all these journal pages plus the more recent ones I haven't photographed should be up on hslaunch for you).

(WHY do these pictures flip back sideways after I have saved them right way up? What am I doing wrong?)

We also made raisins dance for spells class - a buoyancy spell:

(Muggle translation of ingredients: water, raisins, club soda)

(this last picture is a comparison of the charmed glass (with club soda) vs the original glass (with water).

We haven't had this much fun with school for ages!!!!
